Bathroom, bathroom, bathroom

We were so excited to receive the renderings for our bathrooms! We'd made a few changes since our first visit and left the appointment feeling happy with our decisions.

Since none of the bathrooms are particularly large, we chose a light, neutral palette to keep things feeling open and airy. We also wanted to stay true to traditional Tuscan style -- so while the tile is modern, durable and easy to maintain, it's designed to mimic classic Tuscan travertine. We're looking forward to adding our own personality with colorful towels and accents to zhuzh it all up. Here are the renderings -- take a look!

We gave our one friend a tour and she thought the guest bathroom was too big! I'm not sure how to take that, LOL! I guess big is relative, right?! At any rate, I think this ensuite is a better use of the space than a walk-in closet.

SERVICE BATHROOM OR POWDER ROOM

Depending on what side of the world you live in, this is either our service bathroom or a powder room or the third bathroom, I suppose. It reminds me of a woman I knew from work who was living in her huge empty nest and was trying to explain to her husband why she was constantly running around flushing toilets and running baths. Toilets need to be used. We learned as much when our house in Las Vegas sat empty while we were trying to sell it. Toilets are most definitely meant to be flushed! Enough said.

From the door

For those of you wondering what the heck is on the wall to the left if you're looking at the toilet. Well, that was our compromise to not having a bidet in this tiny, tiny bathroom. It's a hand-held showerhead or doccetta. I didn't even know that was an option but it was a great solution. It's the little things that remind me we're living in a different country.

By the way, we're not actually putting Italian Carrara marble in this bathroom. Marble, even in this tiny bathroom would be 'too expensive baby'. But the tile these days are pretty darn close.

That's all for now.

A dopo!
