Power Out
No sleeping in today. we had to wake up early on the off chance the boiler repair guy showed up at the 8:30am appointment. It's a good thing we did too, because he arrived at 8:32am. He checked out the boiler, replaced a part and was gone in no time flat. Did I mention that the water heater started acting up? It was working intermittently and often we would have to turn it off and on to get the pilot light to go on. But now it works!
Later that morning we had another call with Fineco to work on getting our Italian bank account. Slowly but surely, step by step.
Outside our door in the square today was this. We are very curious what this might be!
Our plan today was to walk to Coop in hopes that Vegas, who's actual name is Fabio was working. He had invited us to watch his son's soccer match the next day and Ira wanted to confirm the time. Luckily, Fabio was working and we confirmed the match was at 2:30p. he said he would meet us in the square and we could walk over together.
On our way back, we checked out the posters in the square, which is typically how you find out what events are happening. If it's not posted, it's not happening! We could have figured out on our own what time the game was at.
We arrived back home with our bounty of veggies and doctored up the soup for later. For lunch, Ira prepared pesto pasta with toasted walnuts and chicken. It was dee-lish! We both had a nap after lunch as we are apt to do these days. Apparently this is very Italian.
After our nap we headed to the Organ Museum for piano practice. Dr. Ronzoni said his daughter Elena would be in the museum tomorrow and we could have more of a chat with her there.
On our walk back home the sky was so pretty. We took a few pictures along the way.
We had the soup for dinner and then watched tv until the power went out! Good thing we had already bought the flashlight. It was late enough that we decided we could just go to sleep. Sometimes it's nice to go to bed early.
A dopo!
