Yoshi

The week was fairly uneventful. I worked, while Ira took care of Kobayashi, the koi, the koi pond and of course, the bonsai. A couple of days he went over to RC's house to help him paint. His big job this week was to pick the ripening fruit all over the property--plums, peaches, apricots, blueberries, lemons. He's been bagging them up and giving them to Letty, the landscapers, RC and our friends Mike and Tyeara.

One night we were invited for dinner at Mike and Tyeara's house in Mount Helix, about a 25 to 40-minute drive from La Jolla. It had been since pre-Covid That we lasted visited, so there were lots of changes to see. The biggest one was the newest addition to their family.

Yoshi

Isn´t he cute? They got him at the mall during an adoption event. Can  you believe it? He was tied up and abandoned in the desert when the authorities found him. People can be so thoughtless sometimes. But now, he's adopted and loved. He's great with their daughter Evie. It was tough to get a photo because every time you came towards him, he would get up and want to play.

Another impressive change was the new rock walls Shelly had built. He never does anything halfway as you can see.

Side yard

Ira commented later how different his walls Shelly's walls are from RC's organic plant-filled, self-built rock walls. Shelly's walls are laser-cut precision-straight and substantial. The corners are amazing, right?

In the back he has his bonsai. It's still a work in progress, but you can see part of the amazing view from his second story.

For dinner we had a meat fest, which made a lot more sense when Mike explained that for Father's Day, Tyeara had bought him a butcher class. So, we were eating the fruits or more accurately, the meats of his labor. Apparently he butchered half a pig. I think my favorite was the pork belly.

Of course, Yoshi had to be under the table with us, just in case! It was a fun night, but we had to get home to Kobayashi. He was going to be upset with us.

A dopo!
