Mystery in the Bermuda Triangle
Before we left Oregon our chiropractor gave us a website to find similar practitioners all over the world. The closest one to Massa is in Siena, not that we need a reason to visit Siena. But since we were planning on staying in San Diego for awhile, it made sense to find one here.
The closest one was in the Pacific Beach neighborhood which coincidentally turned out to be a friend of Dr. Domby's.

After our appointments, it didn't make sense not to walk the six blocks to the beach. It was another beautiful sunny day in San Diego as you can see. I thought these beach rentals on the water were cool. I can't imagine what they cost to rent. At any rate, walking along the beach was free.

After we got back, we went to visit a fellow bonsai student's house to see his collection. He has a beautiful house in La Jolla, with a gorgeous view of the water. In the evening RC took us to Wa Dining OKAN restaurant for Japanese food. He ordered for the three of us. It was all very good, but this dish was our favorite. The eel with flavored rice.
Naturally the dinner discussion turned to eels. Did you know that all American and European eels are born in the Bermuda Triangle, in the Sargasso Sea? Other fun eel facts:
- both Aristotle and Sigmund Freud investigated the mystery of how eels reproduce
- eels need only a bit of dampness on the ground to travel over land
- eels begin their journey to their spawning place by dissolving their stomach and eating themselves alive from the inside as they travel thousands of miles to their destination to die once they spawn

A dopo!

Thanks for the eel lesson! -K
