Meerkats to Sundaes

This morning before leaving Germany, we crossed the street and were first in line at the Karlsruhe Zoological City Garden. We were pleasantly surprised. We had a great time visiting the animals right in the middle of the city.

Imagine looking out your kitchen window and seeing giraffes wandering around, crazy!

The red pandas were a fan favorite. It was nice coming on a cool morning as all the animals were very active. The polar bear was pacing.

The penguins were feeding.

We even saw Hedwig

It was a really great way to start the day and even the weather cooperated. We jumped in the car and drove through the Netherlands to Belgium. Five countries in 2 days, it's crazy.

We drove straight to the bonsai show venue and got early access to the show and vendor area. We  ended the evening with an entertaining dinner with our old friend Jan.

Melissa and I shared a delicious brownie sundae, a nice way to finish a great day.

Ciao, a dopo.

  1. What a fun way to start your day at a zoo! Red Pandas are our favorites at the Eureka zoo. Glad your getting to see so much of Europe!

  2. It was so fun and good to get in some fresh air and a walk before sitting in the car the rest of the day!
